What is a CSA?

 

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. At its most basic level, a CSA is the weekly delivery of fresh, local produce to you, the consumer. More than that, however, Community Supported Agriculture is a partnership between you and your local farmer. By purchasing a CSA share, you are pledging to support our farm’s operation, and through this, Tuholski Produce becomes more than just our farm… it becomes the community’s farm. In return for your commitment, you receive a box of fresh, local produce each week during our growing season. By joining in this partnership, you are supporting your local economy, investing in your health by eating locally and seasonally, and helping to build a strong and equitable food system.

 

What you can expect through your CSA share

 

Each week, you can choose to pick up your CSA box in downtown La Porte or at Tuholski Produce. You will receive a weekly newsletter with updates from the farm as well as recipe ideas for that week’s produce. There will also be opportunities for you to come out and visit the farm, learn about how we grow our produce, and even help with harvest!

 

Produce you might expect during the season (June-October):
Basil, Beans (green, yellow), Beets, Blueberries, Bok Choy, Brussels Sprouts, Cabbage (green, red), Carrots, Cauliflower, Collard Greens, Corn, Cucumbers (pickling, slicing), Eggplant, Garlic (spring, scapes), Kale, Lettuce, Onions (bunching & storage), Peas, Peppers (sweet, spicy), Potatoes (new, storage), Pumpkins, Radishes, Raspberries, Spinach, Summer Squash, Sweet Potatoes, Swiss Chard, Tomatoes (cherry, heirloom varieties), Tomatillos, Turnips, Watermelon, and Winter Squash

This year we will also be offering optional add-ons (more info to come soon):

- Coffee

- Flower Bouquets

- Eggs

16-Week (June-Oct) csa Pricing: $390

​

CSA Pick-ups will occur the Monday of every week. Pick-ups will be offered at locations in downtown La Porte (TBD) or at the Tuholski Produce farm.
